Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Beloit/Janesville
"If you are heading the wrong way, remember that God permits U-turns... It is you and only you who can act to change the course of your financial vehicle. You must grab hold of that steering wheel, turn it and drive youself in the right financial direction."
Suze Orman,
The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life
Through individual counseling, advocacy, community education, and financial management programs, CCCS counselors help families gain the knowledge and skills needed to slove current financial difficulties, prevent future problems and implement the attitude and actions needed to pursue financial success. The outcome of these efforts is reduced emotional and physical stress, improved personal finances, financial stability, and a better quality of life.
The agency continues to provide United States Trustee approved pre-bankruptcy counseling and post-bankruptcy education. The demand for these services has decreased from the highs of previous years.
Community financial education and outreach are a key component of the agency's services. CCCS programs reach residents of different age groups, income, employment and education levels. Participants include local non-profit agencies, high school students, new homebuyers, parents, employees and domestic violence victims. Several partnership presentations, including those to two home buying programs and three domestic violence shelters, are regularly scheduled and presented several times per year. Presentations cover money management, debt levels, and prudent use of credit, credit history, and budgeting.
