Family and Individual Counseling
Few things in life are to be valued more than the well-being of ourselves and our families. We know, however, that there are times when living hurts, times when past emotional injuries continue to ache as open wounds, times when the world ceases to be a place of wonder and joy. Indeed, there are times when the relationships within our families become clouded by intense and often destructive motions; times when those close to us no longer give us solace. During these times, counseling and other therapeutic interventions can make a positive difference.
We offer therapy to assist individuals in addressing:
• Adult adjustment concerns
• Anxieties and phobia
• Betrayals within intimate relationships and other issues that lead to conflicts in relationships
• Childhood adjustment concerns
• Depression
• Eating disorders
• Grief and loss
• Self-esteem development
• Trauma (childhood and recent)
• Issues that affect functioning in home, school and/or work
Who We Are
We are people who listen...and people who care. As an independent out-patient mental health clinic, we offer a variety of counseling and psychotherapeutic strategies for helping individuals address the discomfort in their lives. As an agency, we trace our roots back to 1914 when our primary role was providing relief to families in the community. Much has changed since then, but our concern and commitment to the community has remained the same.
What We Believe
Our primary objectives are to help adults and children in need. We believe each individual deserves to enjoy mental and emotional health and have an opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. Our programs reflect an understanding that the quality of life can be compromised by forces beyond an individual's control. We believe that while each individual has the ability to improve the quality of their lives, professional counseling or therapy can be a productive tool for positive changes.
How We Provide Counseling and Psychotherapy
Each individual comes to our office with a unique endowment of personal strengths and resources. Together, we develop a shared understanding of the factors that pose an obstacle to personal fulfillment and personal satisfaction. We work together to identify and enhance the strengths necessary for regaining emotional balance and well being.
